This flamenca negra is Juan Miguel Carmona’s number 112 – a vivid and inspiring instrument that also work surprisingly well for classical music. A very fast guitar with great snap that respond directly with good sustain and great clarity. The construction is rather light with a body resonance between F# and G. Action is set to 3/2.5 mm at 12th fret without any buzzing, unless your drive it hard. No cracks or past repairs. All in all a good choice for someone looking for an easy playing guitar with low string height, that works equally well for both classical and flamenco style.
Granada luthier Juan Miguel Carmona, protege of the great builder Rafael Moreno Rodriguez, has been making classical and flamenco guitars for nearly 40 years. He was sent to the workshop of Manuel Bellido at the tender age of 14 by his father, Agustin Carmona, famous for being the best guitar varnisher in whole Granada. Juan Miguel is also a part of the Carmona family of professional flamenco players including Pepe Habichuela, Juan Habichuela, Josemi Carmona and the pop flamenco group Ketama.
